I have fibroid tumours that have to be removed, so because of this I've opted to have my tubes tied because I really don't endevour to have a litter of children. Three is plenty thankyouverymuch.

I was at the doctors for my preop appointment and we were discussing my options. Previously I had thought that ivasive surgery was necessary, two tiny incisions because it's just done with a scope.

However my doctor told me about a new procedure that goes in through the cervix and they insert coils into my fallopian tubes which causes the tubes to scar and close rendering me basically sterile (99.% effective which is the same if they were to cut and tie off the tubes)

I wasn't previously concerned about the incisions as they are very tiny ones and I've had much worse, however I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar procedure and might offer some advice.

Also I've never been put "under" before and I'm utterly and completely TERRIFIED of this. Any advice on that?

Love you all so muchly for any words.

I was put under for my wisdom teeth, and I was out long enough for it to be considered major surgery. I was completely terrified of being knocked out as well, but it really wasn't that bad. You're laying there and they're like 'you'll be out in a few seconds' and you're thinking yeah right, and the next thing you know they're waking you up.
