I have fibroid tumours that have to be removed, so because of this I've opted to have my tubes tied because I really don't endevour to have a litter of children. Three is plenty thankyouverymuch.

I was at the doctors for my preop appointment and we were discussing my options. Previously I had thought that ivasive surgery was necessary, two tiny incisions because it's just done with a scope.

However my doctor told me about a new procedure that goes in through the cervix and they insert coils into my fallopian tubes which causes the tubes to scar and close rendering me basically sterile (99.% effective which is the same if they were to cut and tie off the tubes)

I wasn't previously concerned about the incisions as they are very tiny ones and I've had much worse, however I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar procedure and might offer some advice.

Also I've never been put "under" before and I'm utterly and completely TERRIFIED of this. Any advice on that?

Love you all so muchly for any words.

about 3 weeks ago I had a DNC with a hystersomething done to my uterus. I called laser surgery since I had a hard time remembering and saying the full name. Anyhoo, I was put under what they call twilight anesthesia. I had an IV put in my hand and right before they rolled me out, they gave me two shots. All I can remember is thinking, hmmmm the curtain is starting to look wonky so the drugs must be kicking in. Now my husband says I spoke to the nurse when they started to roll me out of the room. I guess they said we were on our way and I said ok. The next thing I remember is a nurse saying I was sitting up in a chair and that I had underwear on. I remember thinking, well that is good but were are the rest of my clothes?
Now my procedure was a outpatient one, so if you have to ride home for any distance, make sure you have some pain meds with you, in case the stuff from the surgery wears off. My hubby did not think of this before hand and told the doctors to call my meds into our drugstore which was +60 miles away. Needless to say I was not a happy camper when I got home. I wanted my bed and I wanted it NOW! Other than that, everything was just fine, no problems at all. I wish you good luck with your procedure.

They gave me laughing gas before putting my IV in when I got my wisdom teeth out, and I remember the lights moving slowly and thinking it was hilarious that I couldn't feel my legs XD
